was proud to be a part of:

An Irish TRAD Weekend!!!

August 29, 2005 - August 30, 2005

Sometimes out of nowhere comes a special set of circumstances that brings everything together and helps tie everything together.  This was one of those weekend.  Back in May of 2005 we received a brief email from two up and coming musicians who were interested in doing some Irish Music Workshops while on their way through town.  Visiting their website was evidence enough that this was an opportunity we couldn't afford to miss.

As emails floated back and forth, it was announced that not only were they passing through Buffalo, but also playing a two night show at the Shannon Pub.  Things were heating up.  After much searching, a venue was discovered not to far from the Shannon Pub that would house the workshops.  That stage was set for a fantastic weekend of Irish TRAD.

The flyers were posted and mass emails sent.  Then, two days before the trio arrived, an email arrived that another duo would be coming through on this same weekend for a one night appearance at Nietzches.  Suddenly everything was turned upside down as flyers and more emails quickly made the rounds to get everyone on board.

So there you have it, in one weekend Buffalo experienced two great days of IRISH TRAD.

Special thanks to Matt and Shannon Heaton for firing up the Shannon Pub and to 5 Mile Chase for making it real at Nietzches.  It certainly was a weekend to remember.
